Copyright 2018. HAYLING ISLAND BOWLS CLUB. All rights reserved.
Founded in 1977, the Club is situated at the rear of the Hayling Island Community Centre. The installation of the all-weather surface and floodlights enables the Club to provide all-year round flat green bowling. It is a mixed Club where members decide the level at which they wish to play.
We are an amateur club run by its members and members are required to abide by a Member’s Charter. We are open to all persons irrespective of ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or beliefs; or of age, sex or disability except as a necessary consequence of the requirements of bowls as a particular sport. Dress code is casual, except for Club matches and specific Club events. Flat or soft soled shoes must be worn on the bowls green.
All-year, the Club runs “Roll-Up” sessions that are open to all. Between April and September the Club enters several teams at various levels in the local leagues, whilst also organising its own internal competitions and friendly matches with other clubs. Between October & March the Club runs singles, pairs & triples competitions as well as floodlit friendlies with other clubs.
If you would like to have-a-go, we can organise “taster sessions” so that you can decide if the sport is for you. Should you decide to take up the sport, we have experienced bowlers who are willing and able to pass on their knowledge whatever your abilities. We also have spare sets of woods of different sizes for you to try out.
If you are interested in joining, please contact us. Likewise, if you would like to hold a one-off group or regular group bowling sessions.
