In the Beginning ....1977

Hayling Island Newsreels

Between 1977 and 1980 Robert Godfrey (founder of the Hayling Islander newspaper) produced 4 newsreels of events on Hayling Island.  These newsreels have now been digitised and have been shown locally by his son Christopher.

I met Chris recently and he has very kindly let me have some still photos of the opening day of our bowling green in 1977 - do you recognise anybody ... maybe yourself ?!  If so please let me know the photo number and the names of the people you know - you can use the "contact us" page on the website.

If you would like a copy of the DVD or Blu-ray version of the Hayling Island Newsreels visit haylingnewsreels.co.uk.
